week #1: Goofy Looks and Take
Here is the first of several weekly animation exercises I will share, that I am doing for an Animation 2 class here at LCAD.
Dave Pruiksma was telling us that at certain point in working at the studio, he developed an innate sense of timing; a head turn takes this many frames, so on and so forth. When working on the character Flit for Pocahontas, his stock idea of timing changed dramatically. The director would only give him a few number of frames to show several actions. Thus comes the basis for this excercise: I had 46 frames to make a character Enter Screen, look right, look left, take, and exit screen. I decided to animate goofy because Dave, had a good model sheet.

If I had more time I would animate the overlap of the ears, do a small antic before the last take, scramble the arms during the take strait-ahead, and use less time to exit the screen, . But it served its purpose, I learned alot, and it was fun :)
expect another test next week...
